KC and The Sunshine Band, formed in 1973 in Hialeah, Florida, are pioneers of the disco and funk music scene, known for their catchy hits that became anthems of the 1970s dance floors. Led by Harry Wayne Casey, better known as KC, the band infused R&B, funk, and disco into a vibrant sound that encouraged their audiences to get down and dance. The band’s journey to stardom began in the recording studios of TK Records in Miami, where KC worked in the warehouse and used his spare time to experiment with music production.
